THE SESSIONS WILL PROVIDE PRACTICAL, HANDS-ON KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN PROTOCOL MANAGEMENT.
The Ministry of External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs will host a Protocol Training, to be held at the Finance Administrative Centre, from March 3 to 6, in response to increasing demands for protocol services across Ministries/Departments. The aforesaid initiative is aimed at building capacity and enhancing efficiency in this critical area and will be conducted by a Protocol Consultant.
To this end, the four-day training, divided into two sessions (March 3 – 4 and March 5 – 6), will provide participants with practical, hands-on knowledge and skills in protocol management, equipping them to effectively support protocol-related activities within their respective agencies. The training will focus on various topic areas, including diplomatic protocol, precedence and rank, official events and seating, table etiquette, official visits, flag etiquette, national anthem and national symbols, and safety and security of visiting dignitaries (Immigration, Customs and airport safety).
A key component of the training includes a site visit to the George F. L. Charles Airport. The objective of the visit is to enable participants to become acquainted with the environment within which the protocol officers operate when extending courtesies to visiting dignitaries.
The Ministry expresses its gratitude to all the presenters and agencies for their support and commitment to this important initiative, which will enhance our collective capacity and professionalism in our protocol service delivery to visiting dignitaries, government officials and Members of the diplomatic corps, and will further serve as a refresher for key stakeholders.
